Full Merbau hardwood throughout

Construction

• Assembled with hot-dipped galvanised shank nails — rated for hardwood construction

• Hand-built at our Cranbourne workshop by experienced carpenters — every Merbau planter box is individually inspected

Bottomless — the grower's choice

• Open base sits directly on soil — roots grow freely into the native ground below for maximum depth and access to natural nutrients

• Best for vegetable gardens, deep-rooted herbs and any plant that benefits from unrestricted root depth

 

Bottom with liner — for hard surfaces

• Solid Merbau base board with fitted liner on the base — protects the timber from sustained soil moisture

• 425mm internal soil depth with base fitted

• Required for placement on concrete, pavers, decking and other hard surfaces

• Compatible with lockable castors — makes the planter fully mobile

Merbau finish options

• Raw Merbau — natural, unfinished. The warm reddish-brown of raw Merbau is inherently beautiful. Weathers gracefully outdoors.

•  Merbau Decking Oil — Cabot's Natural Decking Oil. Enhances the natural Merbau grain. UV protection and water repellency. Our most popular Merbau finish.

•  Merbau Stain — Cabot's Merbau Stain. Deepens and enriches the natural colour. Rich warm brown, UV-stable.

 

• All other finishes from our 12-option range are also available on request. Two full coats applied by hand on all finished options.

• Recommendation: avoid thick film varnishes on Merbau — oil-based penetrating finishes are best suited to the timber's natural oil content.

Castors — lockable (Bottom option only)

• Lockable castors available with Bottom base only — raise the planter 100mm and make it fully mobile

 

Trellis add-on
